 Building a New Business

Created, launched and led first three years operation of Greenwich CT based boutique wealth management, private banking and family office services firm targeting Ultra High Net Worth segment.  This new venture was profitable within its first three years and generated more than $500 million in business volume. 

Project accountabilities included:

  • Active involvement in capital raise
  • Marketing and branding strategy, sales and business development
  • Organization design, team recruiting/management

Transforming a Business

Worked with US $2 billion Caribbean based regional bank to reposition their branch network and improve operating performance.  Results were the launch of a new strategy and upscale market segment entry.

  • Developed transformation strategy to transition to client focused, segment oriented business model from traditional internally focused, processing orientation
  • Created launch plan for distinctive new 'pilot' branch in upscale market
  • Worked with client to address culture and operating process changes needed to support new approach

Turning a Business Around

Led repositioning of retail branch business for $300 million Washington D.C. area community bank.  Achieved double digit deposit and loan growth.

  • Redesigned incentive compensation plan and performance measurement metrics
  • Selected marketing services partner and implemented new advertising and promotional strategy
  • Upgraded and replaced Branch Managers in underperforming markets
  • Stabilized and substantially improved key business within underperforming institution

Venture Capital Advisory

Worked with entrepreneur on business planning and marketing strategy for pre-revenue international remittance processing business.  Business raised capital, executed 'reverse merger' and entered revenue stage.

Creating a Vision for the Future

Worked with CEO and executive team of a market leading mortgage servicing business to create updated strategic vision and framework for growth. Plan was presented to and approved by Board of Directors.

  • Facilitated strategic planning process covering customer, competitive and industry trends; assessment of current market position, capabilities and resources; mission, business model and basis for competitive advantage

Enabling New Market Entry

Assisted non-US entrepreneurial group with US banking market entry via acquisition. Regulatory approval and closed deal achieved.

  • Developed business plan strategy for regulatory review process
  • Worked with client team to create business plan submission and full financial modeling to support application in short turnaround situation

De Novo Bank Development

Teamed with prominent banking and trading family to build boutiquecommunity bank with international private banking capability. Worked with founding investor/CEO to implement his vision for a unique banking firm. Completed virtually all build-out requirements to open the bank when regulatory delays put the project on hold.

  • Acting COO, responsible for implementing operating/IT infrastructure, organizational development and recruiting, marketing strategy, facilities, etc.
